CTC Miljo 1100 HELP
Re: CTC Miljo 1100 HELP
You can use the oil burner thermostat for the pellet burner. But it has an small hysteresis that will make the burner work in short cycles. It is better with an other thermostat for the pellet burner.
I do not really understand the other question. You can put the electrical heater thermostat lower than the the burner, this will result in that the electrical heater will help when the pellet burner do not manage to heat as fast as required. Or has stopped for some reason.

Re: CTC Miljo 1100 HELP
Can you please explain some of the controls of the CTC 1100.
I have set the water temperature at 60 degrees from the didigal panel.
But what is the function of the termostat knobs of the el. heater and the oil heater?
I have wired the Viking Bio to the Oil burner termostat..(until I get pellet termostat from Sweden), but it did not turn off until it reached 70 degress even set on MIN. It did not turn off at 60 C as it was set to?
So, is the digital panel controling the set temp of the water in the tank? And if so, what are the turning knobs for? Maybe they regulate the histerzis based on the set temp?

Re: CTC Miljo 1100 HELP
The central part is för the electrical heater. The knob to the right is för the oilburner.

Re: CTC Miljo 1100 HELP
Yes, I understand that.
But what does these set?
The temp of the water is set in the digital panel - right?
Then el and oil termostats set what exactly?

Re: CTC Miljo 1100 HELP
If you mean the panel to the left, so it's shunt control where you set the control curve and the desired room temperature.
The dial in the middle regulates boiler water temperature with electric heat and the dial to the right set boiler water temperature at the oil / pellet heating.

Re: CTC Miljo 1100 HELP
Thank you for your help in English
Almost all is clear to me now. I have set the burner with the oil thermostat to stop at 75 C and it starts again at about 65 C. So I think this is good for now. I have set the EL. thermostat to start at about 50 C, so if the burner stops, we will still have water for the showers
However it seems to me it takes a lot of time for the burner to start.. sometimes more than 10 min.
It was working all night OK, but in the morning it was off with alarm - failed start.
There was ash in front of the burning grate (not on it). Maybe this was the reason that it could not start?
After I cleaned it - it started ok (although a bit slow).
What is the normal time for the burner to start?
What could be the reason for ash to accumulate after the grate? Bad pellets? Or not enough strong fan?
Maybe there is a setting for the air pressure?
I am thankful for your advises.

Re: CTC Miljo 1100 HELP
It is normal that there is ash in the burner tube.
The reason that the grate is clean for failed start may be too small starting dose.
A starting dose should weigh 100-120 grams.
The starting dose is adjusted with green knob in the middle of the circuit board marked "STARTDOS".

Re: CTC Miljo 1100 HELP
Thank you.
All is working just fine after the increase of the inital dose.
How often should I clean it? I know it depends on the pellets, but is there some kind of way to know it is time to clean?
Thx

Re: CTC Miljo 1100 HELP
About 4-7 Days, depends on the pellets and the adjustments or the burner will tell you with a failed start.

Re: CTC Miljo 1100 HELP
Hm, we still have failed starts from time to time..
Sometimes it fails with just cleaned grate... sometimes it works flawlessly for 2 days..
Is there a setting for the air (fan strenght) during ignitions?
Or maybe I need a new heating element?

Re: CTC Miljo 1100 HELP
If the ignition element gets hot it's ok.
Set the burner to high draught so will it ignate easier, switch 2/2 in the right position.
Could be that the draught is too high in the chimney.
It is necessary to have a draught stabiliser installed.

Re: CTC Miljo 1100 HELP
Thx,
That's exactly what I did 1bour ago (the switch for the draught).
I do have a draught regulator installed.
I'll see how it holds now with the other setting.
Thank you

Re: CTC Miljo 1100 HELP
I still have problems with starting up.
It almost starts.. and sometims it fires at the last moment ..as soon as it gives up..
Could it be due to the pellets. Almost all pellets sold here are 6 mm. I read in the manual it is for 8 mm..
Could this be the problem?
